Brian Clapier is the Senior Director for Data Advocacy at Casey Family Programs. Brian works with child welfare systems to build capacity to use data to drive prioritization and decision-making. The Data team analyzes data to track progress and drive change in child welfare outcomes. He leads as well as oversees system-wide data collection, data reporting, and analytic processes. Previously, Brian served as a Policy Fellow with Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago. He was also the Associate Commissioner for Research and Analysis at New York’s ACS and as a Deputy Commissioner at the Philadelphia Department of Human Services. Shana is a leadership coach and former nonprofit executive with 20 years of experience driving results in community-based change initiatives. As the Chief Program Officer of PACE Center for Girls from 2014-2017, she led a network of 19 trauma-informed schools for middle and high school girls at risk of entering the juvenile justice system. Previously, she served as Senior Manager at the Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ), overseeing key cornerstones of their cradle-to-career pipeline – first leading HCZ’s comprehensive early childhood programs, and then heading up their elementary, middle, and high school programs serving more than 4,000 children. She is also an Annie E. Fostering Change Network’s expertise in child welfare begins with Founder and CEO Shalita O’Neale, a highly trusted and nationally recognized professional both inside and outside of both social work and foster care circles. In addition to her own experience in the foster care system, Shalita possesses over 13 years’ experience working and advocating for youth and alumni of the foster care system. Shalita is originally from Baltimore, Maryland where she entered kinship care after the death of her mother at age 2, then bounced back and forth between family members before officially entering Maryland’s foster care system at the age of 13. Shalita founded Fostering Change Network, LLC (FCN) in 2012 as a way to use her 13 years’ experience in child welfare training, program development and advocacy to connect young professionals with foster care histories, like herself, through local and national professional networking events such as the Alumni Powerhouse Networking Conferences (APNC) that have taken place in Maryland, California and New York City since 2015. |
